E911 / NG911 · Kari's Law compliance
HotelGenie NG911 helps your phone system meet current 911 rules: it sends a dispatchable location like a room and tower to the 911 center, gives responders a direct callback number, and alerts your staff the moment a 911 call is placed.
Enhanced 911 services
Regulations now require phone systems to identify where a 911 call is coming from and provide a direct callback number. HotelGenie handles both — and keeps your own team in the loop.
Alert
Onsite personnel and emergency services are alerted at the same time, so your team can meet responders and clear the way.
Locate
Staff and EMS personnel know where the caller is — down to details like “Room 1104 South Tower” or “Front Elevator Lobby.”
Connect
Emergency personnel can call the caller back directly during an emergency, rather than reaching a main switchboard.
How it works
Step 1
The call leaves your telephone system as usual — HotelGenie works with any phone system that supports T1, PRI or SIP trunks.
Step 2
The call reaches 911 with the caller's dispatchable location, such as the room number and tower, plus a direct callback number.
Step 3
At the same moment, staff receive SMS, email and voice alerts with the caller and location details so they can respond on site.

Kari's Law compliance
Kari's Law is a federal requirement for multi-line telephone systems — the kind used in hotels, casinos and other large properties. In general terms, it requires that anyone can dial 911 directly, without a prefix or access code, and that a designated on-site contact is notified when a 911 call is placed.
HotelGenie's E911 service is designed to comply with Kari's Law and the newer requirements to identify a caller's location and provide a direct callback number — on any PBX, without replacing the phone system you already run.
What HotelGenie delivers
What does Kari's Law require of hotels?
Kari's Law applies to multi-line telephone systems like those in hotels and casinos. In general terms, it requires that callers can dial 911 directly without a prefix and that a designated on-site contact is notified when a 911 call is made. HotelGenie's E911 service is designed to help properties meet Kari's Law and related 911 requirements.
What location information does HotelGenie send to 911?
HotelGenie sends a dispatchable location to the 911 center with each call, such as “Room 1104 South Tower” or “Front Elevator Lobby.” That detail helps both your staff and emergency services personnel reach the caller faster.
Does HotelGenie E911 work with our existing phone system?

How is hotel staff notified when someone calls 911?
When a 911 call is placed, HotelGenie instantly sends SMS, email and voice alerts to designated staff with the caller and location information. Onsite personnel and emergency services are alerted simultaneously, and 911 call recording is available as an option.
